Yes, I love white especially white gadget. I once had a white Dell notebook, but that to me is not white enough, ‘cos it is only the casing that is white, I mean outside, the inner part is still black. I guess the notebook by Apple is pretty beautiful, which is all white!

My phone now is also white and today I’ve just changed its casing protector to white color too, yippie!

Now, talking about gadget, my Samsung Galaxy SII hang more recently. Especially when I was using the camera and the kids playing games (Air Penguin and Burn the Robe). Whenever the camera hang, the auto-rotate is on, so I presume it is due to that where the phone get confuse on which way to turn. Same goes to those games what more they need to maneuver with the phone to get the penguin to jump and the robe to burn on the ride side.

Thus, I’ve uninstalled the Air Penguin and Burn the Robe just to see how it will goes later. Another thing that I need to do is to go to Samsung dealer to check if my phone’s applications need to be updated, or was it the phone itself need to be updated. But bummer is that, Samsung (in Karamunsing Capital) close for lunch from 12:30pm till 2:30pm which is where I would be free to go over. Never mind, I’ll make it a point to visit next week during their office hour to get my phone sorted out.

Now since this phone is giving me such a hassle, I’m wondering if iPhone has this problem. What more iPhone can use Istagram application which looks so interesting. Th0ugh I have MeiTuXiuXiu and PhotoWonder to play with. Instagram seems more common among my twitter friends. So now every time I look at their instagram photos, I can’t comment since I don’t have an instagram account. I can only re-tweet or like it in FB.

Well, I’m dreaming actually to get an iPhone instead of sticking up with my Samsung. But another part of me keep telling myself that, hey, Samsung Galaxy SII screen is way bigger than iPhone and it is slimmer, what for I want to change since I’m with Digi for a 2-year plan! OMG! 2 years!!! What the heck!

The one gadget that is slim and small from Apple (I think) is Apple iPod touch. Which has white!!! So, maybe to satisfy my urge in getting a cool new gadget, I’ll just swift my attention to iPod touch.

What do you think, cool looking huh!?

But… err… what the heck do I need an iPod touch for? I don’t actually listen to music on the go, except in my car. I know it has way more application than just playing music, like video taking, iMessage and camera. But… I don’t really need all those.

Just keep with my Samsung for the moment la.

I might as well give it a try huh!?

XiaXue, Cheesie, Qiu Qiu just to name a few that I know and probably the famous ones too.. who did very well in Photoshop their photos and I love to look at their photos. Who doesn’t like to look at pretty stuff huh!? Some more it looks natural to me.

Even my friends over at FB are doing it with their phones. And I’ve discovered PhotoWonder and Mei Tu Xiu Xiu, two applications that can do wonders on any photos that I took!

Just look at these before and after photos that I’ve taken recently:

Second take also using PhotoWonder:

You see the difference? Hey, it take guts to put these photos in here, okay?

You see the disappearance of eye bag? Sharper chin? Bigger eyes? Better skin tone?

Yup, these are just some really minor photo editing, and I become dolly, right!? Not so la.. but at least there are difference, right?

Who doesn’t want to look good right? Ha!

Well.. not get fool by it but I still prefer the edited version times.. hehe.. look better wah!

The only way now a day for you to see the real version is by video I suppose.. ‘cos it is harder to edit. So if you have ActConferencing.com audio conferencing, you’ll get the real picture, huh!?

At the mean time, let me just have some fun editing my photos by adding borders, some other Lomo effect and what not.

Have fun!

Yes, it is still 1st Jan of 2012. I’m still not late yet, right? I know.. I’m a bit slow on this. People has been talking about new year resolution or have started going towards their goal and yet I’m still here trying to wish all of you a happy new year. Buoy, talking about catching up.

So, what’s the plan for this year?

I’m actually thinking if I should just maintain this blog since the rest are … well.. a bit stagnant, and I could really combine my craft blog with this one. What do you think? Do visit my crafty site – http://fonmee.blogspot.com and let me know what do you think, should I or shouldn’t I?

The other one is a free site – Blogspot. And this one is my own domain.

I hope this sort of things is not a web developer jobs. I do hope my blog follower will let me know your opinion on this.

Another thing is I want to keep my readers. Although I’ve less than 100 followers in my craft blog, compare to those well established blog that could have several thousands followers! I do love my followers.. Cos what’s the point of having a blog and no one read about it, right? I just hope everyone can come together, share their experience and well.. make it a place that all of us can share our opinions.

Maybe I’ll start by doing an experiment on the other craft blog. Do drop me a comment or two concerning this, I really appreciate it. Thanking you in advance.

Remember I’ve mentioned that I’ve got myself a new Samsung SII?

Well, it actually took me one whole day to figure out how to received packet data over the Net through my phone! Blind-me.

Anyway, now that I’ve figured out how to get online, the first thing that happened was my kids asking for my phone to download games for themselves!! Yup, we’ve got fruit slash (if I’ve got the name right) now. The next thing that I did was to set up my gmail (well, this is actually the first thing that I had to do in order for me to download things from Market). Next is my FB.

So now.. I’m always updated with email notification. But FB still a bit err.. not sure what happened, there is no notification. Guess I’ll need to check-in in order to get the new happening. I’ve also got “Mei Tu Xiu Xiu”, an application to modify photos taken by the phone.

Next thing I wanted to get is “Makeover”, hehe, big-eyes-pointed-chin-and-sex-lips, here I come! Or.. maybe I can add in some cool looking Tom Ford Sunglasses on my self-portrait. Can’t wait for the fun ahead.

Yay!! I’ve finally got a smart phone for myself!

I’m totally not techno-savvy about phone. I’ve been using my old old Nokia for err… five years? Ya.. that’s how long that I’ve been with my Nokia Music Express, which probably is no longer in the market or even value. So glad I finally put my mind up and subscribe with Digi Smart plan.

I’ve signed up for Digi Smart Plan 68 with auto billing but I opt for the 2 years installment plan instead of getting the phone up front. I don’t want to put a big hole in my wallet, you see. Since I’m not one that will change plan or phone easily. I’m royal you see? So I’ve signed up for 2 years contract with Digi on this plan.

I still don’t dare to get into the Net using my phone yet, ‘cos it needs 24 hours to switch from my old plan. Just in case, so I better be patient and only get to the Net tomorrow.

Guess what I did first thing after getting the phone? Taking photos! Ha!

The next is to get the screen protector with “anti-finger-print” (hope I’ve got the right term here) and a protective casing. The color of the casing? PINK!!! Hoping that with that color, my boys will not like to touch it since they are crazy about playing games, especially looking forward to Angry Bird, which probably I’ll just download it quietly without them knowing. Hmm.. how shall I hide the game ya?

Now that I’m with my Samsung Galaxy SII, I can just take photos with it and post in my FB if wanted. Getting this phone maybe is something like getting herstyler, something new and yet not something that is a must. I wanted to get another casing and hoping that I can get a very girlie one like Hello Kitty, ha!

We (office) have always been going out to purchase books for our libraries. Sometimes we went to book fair, visit book stores to get the latest books in the market. There is always this problem of duplicating titles in our database and those that we pick in the store or book fair. We used to copy down the book details by hand, especially the ISBN. It is a time consuming taste and tiring too.

Now that with the advancement of technology, we came up with the idea of using portable barcode reader. The best part is that it has built-in memories whereby it can store data all by itself rather than having to attach it with a computer / notebook.

It is actually one brilliant idea having to just bring along the portable barcode reader whenever necessary. It will also help us to record down our own barcode that has attached on the books, this way we can do stock take for other branches that are not online with us yet.

Before this, we have also introduced the barcode printer where we can print our own label and barcode. It is something like a receipt printer. It has been really useful and really shorten the processing time. We used to paste pre-printed barcode onto our books then print the spine label using self-adhesive paper. Which has really given us much problems.

Now that these things are going on, hopefully we can work more efficiently.

I remember when hubby was working in other cities, we used email to communicate with each other, and if the internet speed allowed, we’ll be using Skype to chat. He at the other end will just let it run while he had his late dinner, ha! It is a nightly routine for us then. We’ll inform each other if we can’t make it for the chat. The kids and I look forward to meeting him online. I do feel pity for my kids at times, ‘cos they can’t really be there by the side of their daddy. That was the best that we could have. Other than those constant trip overseas to meet up with him. Comes to think of it, I do miss those trips.

Those days were gone since he has moved back here to work locally and we get to see each other everyday.

Still, there are most times that he’ll be working outstation but for sure he’ll be around during weekend.

I remember there were times that I had to wait till the boys asleep than to get online. I had to make sure that the lighting in the room in sufficient for a good view of me and finger crossed that the line doesn’t just hang on us.

Now that there is Skype Light around, chatting should means clearer view, what more it makes you look even better!

The problem of lighting will be solved in and instant. Video Chat is never the same again.

Now-a-day web cams keep getting more Megapixels, but what they really need is good lighting, so this is when Skype Light comes in handy. First impression do means, you know? So getting a good light does make a different.

Probably the new Macbook Pro will have a built-in LED for better chat result.

At the mean time, happy chatting!

Now that I’m feeling a bit guilty..here.. Hi peeps, how are you all doing? How was your days?

Mine wasn’t too good. I’m having a broken mobile phone. One that the screen is totally unrecognizable. One that I can’t even call out! I’m lost without. But I’m telling myself, “Hey, the person who throw it better get me one new smart phone. Not that I was having a smart phone, but I wanted one! Who asked you to get mad over tinny winny things and throw my hand-made bag!!! Dammit!! Now you have to pay for it.

OR… heheeh.. I could just use your sub-card and make you pay for it monthly, since Digi is offering smart plan that allow me to get any smart phones with their Internet access plan..hehehe.. What a great idea huh!?

Hmm… I’ll give you till this weekend to think about it and then you know what? I’m really going to make you pay for it.

Top 10 Security Tips to Shop, Share and Be Secure Online

As the holiday season approaches, millions of consumers will be shopping online and getting back in touch with friends and family over social networks. Identity Finder, LLC, a global leader in identity theft prevention and information protection, today released 10 tips to help consumers stay safe from a variety of online threats this season.

The Federal Trade Commission estimates that more than 10 million people were victims of identity fraud last year. Todd Feinman, CEO of Identity Finder, says, “As more shopping and social sharing is conducted online, the risk of identity fraud increases exponentially. However, consumers can take simple proactive steps to protect themselves and their families from being among the many victims of online fraud this holiday season.”

10 Tips for Safe Online Shopping: (Watch Video)

Clean Personal Information from Social Networks: Whether it’s info within your profile, tweeting, posting to your wall, or sharing with your network, never disclose personal information such as a date of birth, personal address, or maiden name because identity thieves friend as many people as possible and join networks solely for the purpose of harvesting information to use to commit identity theft.

Always Create Complex Passwords and Never Save Them Unsecured: When creating passwords for making purchases online this holiday, use upper and lower case characters and numbers. Use at least seven characters and don’t choose a word from a dictionary. Only save them in your web browser if your browser uses a master password to secure them (e.g., Firefox Master Password). Even social networking sites are becoming forms of our digital identity. A common scam is for hackers to log in to an unsecured account as you and post that you are in trouble and need money wired to a designated account.

Don’t Download Just Any App: Smartphones are already very common, and will be a popular gift this season. Many apps and games can be downloaded and some have very compelling descriptions that sound fun and exciting. Read the comments posted by other users and ensure the app location is used by many people who think it is trustworthy. Review the application’s permissions to determine if it accesses other parts of your phone or location-based data.

Regularly Update Your Computer’s Software: Software companies update their software to protect you against known ways to hack into your computer. Before starting your online gift-purchasing marathon, upgrade to the latest version of your Operating System (e.g., Windows or Mac, etc.), web browser (e.g., Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari, etc.), and multimedia apps such as Flash and Quicktime. These updates are free and easy to install.

Shop Securely: The “padlock” icon that you may have seen when shopping online identifies the connection as secure. Never enter personal information on a site that does not show up with a secure connection either in your address bar or the bottom right corner of your browser. Unsecured communication can be stolen on the way to its destination and also leaves behind an unsecured cache of the data transmission on your computer.

Avoid Phishing Attacks: Identity thieves spam year round, but especially during the holiday season. Users should be on the lookout for e-mails that look legitimate and purport to save you money or confirm a purchase. Never click links provided in e-mails. Copy the web address to your browser and check to make sure it is taking you to the company with which you intend to do business.

Never Give Personal Information to Customer Service over “Live Chat”: You might have questions on gifts you want to buy or a potential post-holiday return. In any situation in which a company requests your personal information to continue a discussion, always request a contact number for phone communication. This sensitive data can be logged by the agents on the other end and used for malicious purposes.

Disable and Avoid Peer-to-Peer File Sharing: The FTC recently concluded a study that found over 100 companies shared personal information about their customers over peer-to-peer file networks and urged them to change their security policies to prohibit this type of behavior. You can further prevent these types of breaches by removing P2P software from your own computer. If you insist on using it, ensure that you are not sharing any of your folders, as hackers and malcontents can quickly make off with unassuming tax documents and chat logs that contain your sensitive data.

Do Not Trust “Scareware”: This year has seen a large rise in the number of “fake” virus and spyware scanners that are in fact malware. Do not click on advertisements claiming you might be infected with a virus – these are tricks in order to get you to download trojan products. No popup will ever be able to actively scan your system without your explicit permission, so ignore them at all times and trust or upgrade your current security software.

Protect Your Identity Information: Do not keep unprotected copies of your identity information on your computer. Most people have typed their Credit Card number into an e-mail or web browser when purchasing gifts but forgot it was saved to their computer. Use Identity Finder Free or manually search your computer to find and protect anything that could be used to commit identity fraud.

They have quickly grown to become a leader in identity protection and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) by helping millions of consumers, small businesses, and enterprises across the world.
