There are two stores that I like to go when I go for shopping. Not shopping for clothes or anything in particular. When I just wanted to see pretty stuff, or to quench my curiosity about some small stuff that can make life much better. One of them is filled with household goods, be it decorative or usable. They are all there. Another one is filled with great ideas stuff, kitchen utensils, hair clips, organising tools, containers, water bottle, make-up, food, you name it, you’ll probably find it there.

Get where do I mean? Not yet?

Okay, let’s try again.

They are both available in Centre Point Sabah and 1Borneo.

No?

Okay, one is selling mainly Japanese products or solely made for them. Both their names look like Japanese words.

Yes! Daiso and Kaison!

They are my happy place and I can spend hours in there if time allowed.

You can find just about anything in these two stores, except maybe lab furnaces, but then again, who would want to use lab furnaces at home?

Anyway, let me show you how crazy I got and probably some of you would say how non-sense I get doing this while browsing at their shelves – I’ve taken lots of pictures while browsing! I hope it is not an offense though.

So, here goes:

Kaison.

Japanese style cup, those that you see if you dine in Japanese restaurants.

I felt like getting each and every item in the stores back home, like I’m going to need them. Some of them are just too cute to miss and very nice to use as decoration pieces.

I didn’t take more pictures from Daiso as there always seems to have people around you and their shelves space is smaller compare to Kaison. Anyhow, I still love the store.

I hope you’ve enjoyed the photos display for this post.

So much going on for the past few days! (To me at least)

I have been to Joey Yap’s Feng Shui and Astrology 2012 Seminar in Shangrila’s Tanjung Aru Resort on Sunday (all the photos are here in JY’s album), visited a dear colleague of ours and well, basically trying to finish off those books in front of me before I’m off for a holiday.

What I have taken during Joey Yap’s events are this: (one and only which was during the take-five time)

As always, Joey Yap was in his best suit and charming personality who were able to capture the audiences’ attention right when he stepped onto the stage. Don’t ask me more on how he look, ‘cos I was too far behind to see clearly, so I won’t know if he got a mole somewhere or using any cufflink on his well-tailor suit.

**Side-way a bit here, if you are interested about cufflink box, go ahead and click on the link, they have really nice boxes!

Let me rewind a bit on before the event started. First thing when I steppe into the Grand Ballroom, I was like “Gosh! So many people! Where are all the seats!?”

After asking the usher if there are any seats nearer to the stage, I ended up on the last row where they put up more chairs (those without the white cover). After settling down and sms hubby on where-about was he, all the seats beside me were taken. A few more minutes later, I wasn’t on the last row any more! They’ve added more chairs.

Later hubby have a rough count, and it was more than 1000 people in the hall! OMG! What a respond for the first round of seminar!

Glad that I’ve got the free tickets to attend this event. I’ve never regretted to go too. I’ve learnt so much and well, also get confused than ever, ha!

What I’ve learn more was about life lessons instead of Feng Shui itself. To me, it is pretty much on how we accept the existence of Feng Shui itself and how we can use it instead of getting scare of it. In this case, the saying “information is power” is really true here, provided you concentrate on the things that you can do rather than letting those that you can’t do hindering you.

Oh, and you know what? You can get your BaZi chart from Joey’s website. It is free! Not the analysing part though. Of course, else what can he earn, right?

I’m sure you can get more information about Feng Shui and astrology in his website, so I mustn’t talk much here, further more I’m not the expert.

If I were given the chance to attend his seminar again, I would definitely go!!! Any sponsor?

Finally I blog about the new series of Malaysia coins where most probably you’ve already seen them or hold them in your hands.

Ya, I’m a bit slow on this, but hey, until today I still haven’t hold it though. It was out last month and people has been queuing up in Bank Negara to buy the commemorative version of new coin series. Even bringing their new born and demanded that their new born get to buy one set too! However the counter staff over at Bank Negara Malaysia (Kota Kinabalu) has been limiting 3 sets for each person the most, even that also you have to que again in order to get the 2nd and third set.

I’m not a coin collector and although I have though of to get the mint version of those coin set, but it never been materialise since I just couldn’t be bother to que up.

Although I must say that I love the new designs, the motif behind. After I have been using those old series of coins for more than 20 years, I think it is hight time too to come up with a newer and better design. The 50 and 20 cents look like gold coins though they are actually Nickel Brass Clad Copper and Nickel Brass. So, their value will not worth more than those gold coins on sale elsewhere.

You can read all about the Q&A here at Bank Negara website. Unfortunately they are not showing the picture of the real coins there, but you can read more about the design here.

Now, let see how soon will I be using those coins.

There wasn’t much people in the exhibition at night, probably it is still the first day.The DBKK’s stall has no one there too. Wanted to much to ask them the high and low density area and see where we belong.

They are also showing the plans for Kota Kinabalu which I haven’t got much time to read them all. Hopefully every building or constructions will bring benefit to the Kota Kinabalu city. There seems to have a lot going on and plans to make KK a better city. I hope to see a well plan city with better design buildings and probably some just for attraction purpose even though it may look like a steel building.

There are more to see for me which due to time constrain I didn’t finish all the booths in Shareda

They still love play ground and whenever they see one, they surely will suggest to go play in it. For instance there is one in the budget airline airport in Singapore. Thanks to the playground, I don’t need to worry about them or get bug by them for being bored.

Fortunately there is no swing sets available in the air-port playground, else for sure they’ll stick on to it and won’t let go.

Those indoor playground is actually quite cute. But really need to think of safety and really need those mat that is specially made for indoor playground. I like those in Hong Kong, ‘cos they always have safety mat ready.

I guess once a while letting them go wild is okay. But can’t afford it to happen everyday!

Note: Photo was taken during the speech by the Sabah State Library director during the opening ceremony of the workshop. This is the first time that the State Library has an official function in their Level 8 Auditorium.

It has been a day filled with poem appreciation with lots of China history background stories and rules in writing poetry.

The professor, Dr. Lin Sui Hao (林 水 木豪) (the one sitting in blue tie) from UTAR, Institute of Chinese Studies gave us a very interesting talk about poetry. About the stories behind. Those hidden meaning. Those historical background and lots of extra knowledge concerning Chinese poem.

It is amazing how he can remember so many poets and be so clear on the who’s who in the historical Chinese poet!

He opens up my eyes and mind about Chinese poet, about how each word can have so many details of the situation at that time. I know I’ve learn some of the poets that he mentioned during the workshop, but it is not the same kind of mindset then when I learn about Chinese poets in school. Now with a more mature self, I think I can appreciate them better.

Tomorrow we’ll learn about writing short news or reports. I don’t know what to expect yet, but I’m ready to feed myself anything on Chinese studies tomorrow.

Sorry for not being able to take a clear picture of the professor with my auto digital camera. Mine is not those SLR cameras you see.

Gosh! It has been almost a week that I didn’t upload anything over here!

life has been on the fast track recently, with lots of things going on at work and at home. Meetings after meetings, decision after decision needed to make life easier, things done faster and with better outcome.

As for at home, I’ve taken two report cards in a day! One in the morning and the other late in the afternoon. One is doing not so well and the other is doing excellent! Two ends of the extreme for my boys. One that got me and his teachers worried about his performance and even suggesting that he might just have learning difficulties. Another one is way too smart that he is basically a sponge for knowledge.

The elder one definitely needs lots of grooming and attention, probably more push from me too.

On the other side, it is sometimes good to be busy. But still I’ve found time to read Bonjour, Happiness! But of course I’ve skipped here and there. It serves as a constant reminder for myself to enjoy the moment, to live, now. To dine instead of just eat. To slow down instead of just rushing from one place to another. To take care of myself, to take time, to create my own secret garden and to dress for show when I’m not in my secret garden. Lots more to learn. A really good book to read indeed.

Alright, let me just check on my Google reader and see if I’ve missed anything in the blogsphere today.
