Let me just share with you about lighting today.

We have two fans with lights in our house, of course we use energy saving lights and a remote to control the fan speed and lighting. Remote control is part of the convenient and with the light, it just save up some lighting point at the same time we have two things working in the same area, i.e. fan and lights.

We also have some outdoor lighting that we seldom on because it doesn’t seems necessary. Those lights and fan are mostly chosen by hubby. When I browse again in the net, I do love the look of Sea gull lighting, especially the Dark sky outdoor lights with semi-transparent glass panel. Outdoor lighting is very important to me especially the one for our parking area as it helps me to reach the front door and seeing the key hole clearly.

To get to know what choices you have for the Sea Gull lighting, head on over their website and check them out, I’m sure you’ll find something that you love. The right lighting does make a difference for the feel of the whole house and of course it include those outdoor lighting as well.

Now, a blog of 15,000 visits a month has a yearly carbon dioxide emissions of 8lb. One way to neutralize it is to plant more trees and this company is doing just that. Offering site owners a chance to plant trees. Their idea is to show possibilities to make a contribution to protect the environment.

And how do they actually neutralize site’s carbon footprint? They are planting trees in cooperation with the Arbor Day Foundation in Plumas National Forest in Northern California for our project to neutralize the carbon footprint of blogs/sites. Thousands of wildfires burned down many national forests over the past ten years and 88.000 acres of Plumas’ were destroyed by two fires in 2007. To help replanting, they need the support of bloggers all over the world! For every participating blog they plant a tree. One blog – one tree.

You may ask why they do that. They are a German based company called kaufDA, which provides advertisement brochures of local stores online to help consumers search for specific products and find good deals in their neighborhood. This reduces the amount of brochures printed and so the project helps the environment by reducing unnecessary paper in mailboxes. An American on average receives 41 pounds of junk mail per year. This has the same carbon footprint as burning six gallons of gasoline.

To find out how you can participate please visit here.

I’m joining, are you?

This place has gather some dust for I haven’t been stopping by often. Had been so tired recently and had also told myself my boys need extra hour of sleep and I can only achieve that if I went to bed with them, else they’ll start looking for me. They have been good last night for falling asleep without me especially Cal for he stop having afternoon nap now-a-day. Sometime I myself is more tired than them and would really prefer an early night, I just hope I don’t get frustrated when all they wanted to do is teasing each other before bedtime, ‘cos that could lead to some argument or even some silly fight.

The weather around here has been cooling, feel like autumn too without the falling leaves and the color of Fall – orange. I have used two blankets last night and even having the window half closed just so the room won’t be too cold. Had to wake up several times to make sure the boys are properly cover by blanket and afraid that they’ll catch a cold since I’m already having one.

Yup, Fall is definitely here *LOL*, the kind of Fall that doesn’t involves changing of colors and falling leaves. How I wish I could be somewhere enjoying this colorful changes, wrap myself up in thicker clothes, applying lotion more often than I should now and maybe a good reason to change the wardrobe *LOL*.
