Ta da….

Another bag that I’ve done!! This time I’ve got it custom made on the length of the handle to what my colleague wanted to have. So glad that it turn out pretty nice. I hope you like it too.

The print of the bag is not those fancy new design, but sort of sentimental type – stripe. I so love Amy Butler design, but they are really expensive to own and in order to sew a bag from it, I need half a meter of material for the outside and another half meter for the interior.

I somehow still prefer flower prints which is more vintage looking. I’m not a person that go for old stuff like old songs, old books but I do like vintage looking cabinet, drawer and interior, not grudge though.

For those of you who loves old songs, you can go to best oldies songs site, ‘cos you can buy albums that cannot be found in stores now.

Listening to oldies could make you feel a bit younger sometimes, right? Bring back all those sweet memories and of course happy ones I suppose and they will light up your day a bit, right?

Best oldies songs and those hit songs for years, so you can find whatever in your favorite list there.  Check out the 1980′s books too while you are there.

Listening to happy songs do lift one’s spirit up and I do prefer happy songs rather than those heavy metal which I’m totally lost about their songs, I don’t have a clue what they are singing about!

So, oldies, sometimes still my favorite songs to listen to, let’s just have fun and listen to some today.

While for me, I want to get another bag done today!!

Handbag is so much different than the greeting cards that I’ve made. Initially I’ve made small pouches which was easy to assemble. Now that I’ve learnt a bit about handbag, I can even think up the design myself and sew it. But of course I start with simple design, else I might not be able to finish them and got put off going further.

Making bag is nothing like changing a tire that would happen once in a blue moon, this could be a daily stuff!! That I enjoy!!! Changing tire can be done with tire changers, but not my handmade bag!! It needs my both hands, am so glad. And it is unique, one in the world!!

I’m on another mission to complete another bag, this time I know more of what my colleague wants. A compartment in front of the bag, open ended zip which give more room to view the interior of the bag, longer handle so she can hang it on her shoulder, but of course I get to choose the fabric that I love and she doesn’t mind, which is a floral design.

Somehow I prefer floral design rather than plain dark colour bag. People said diamond ring are a girl’s best friend. I think a good bag is a girl’s best friend too. But of course diamond rings last forever and a good bag could last you for years.

There are actually a lot available online that is free. Mostly are easy pattern without zip. I’m intended to make one that with zip and a few small fold on top.

The bag patterns are mostly the same, just that they are in different kind of fabric, which make them look really nice.

What I really need now is to polish up my sewing skills so that the result is more refine and neat.

If you are looking for free pattern, simply Google it, surely you’ll find what you needed. Some are in their blogs, and some are with good document imaging that show you the step-by-step and patterns. Some are with condition that you are not suppose to make them for commercial purposes.

It is actually 100% cotton. The print is not flowery, to me is it not sweet, so I’m not sure if my niece going to love it. She is not sixteen yet, so probably still need things that look sweet.

Just wonder what will she like when she turns sixteen. Probably would ask for a party on her birthday then go for invitationbox.com sweet 16 invitations to get her invitation done!

Well, I’ll find out tomorrow when I see her.

I’ve also moved my sister’s sewing machine down so I can still sew even late at night when the boys are asleep. The thing is I don’t have any cabinet or space to put my fabric, or sewing stuff. I’m gonna need something like a poc cart that is sturdy and rugged used everyday.

I haven’t created anything personally for the boys. The only thing that I’ve made for them and which is hanging in their room is this:

But this is mostly for myself, ha! Because I just love to see pretty things around the house. I’ve also framed up two pages that I’ve made, of course there are some other things that I put on display around the house, still the house seems lacking some personal touch. Will keep working on this. Am glad at least I’ve a house to decorate with.

Coming back about birthday, we have another belated birthday celebration to have. I know I’m going to make cards for these friends of mine who are having birthdays and new born celebrations. I’m not good in birthday gift ideas, so let’s just put that aside. and concentrate in making cards, plus those thank you cards that I’ve promised to make for a charity drive. Glad I can help.

It is not like a professional job that need intense classes, I just need practice, patient and passion. Nothing like Dental Jobs that need years to learn.

I’m sure I can do it again and do it better. I just wish that I can find the magnetic buttons that needed in most of the bag projects. I’ve been searching high and low in Jalan Segama (Kota Kinabalu), still without success. Maybe I should acquire it online. Any good site online for sewing craft? Oh ya.. and do you want to make an order? Will show the other bag that I’m making it here once I’ve done with it.

But I’ve found it in neutral design – square. And it is on offer!

I’m talking about the decorative door curtain. Not the traditional clothes curtain, it is the fun design door curtain with colorful designs.

This is the kind of door curtain I mean, but I didn’t get any of these design. What I got is the square design. One that can be used in my boys’ room or any other place in the house, except maybe the kitchen.

I haven’t put them up yet,  ’cos I need another one more so that I can cover the whole area and we’ve decided to put it in between dining and living area instead of our boys’ room.

I got the door curtain with 60% sales! From RM25.95 to RM10.35! I’m so happy. Please tell me that they didn’t mark up the price.

There are lots more of cute things in the shop, such as hand phone accessories, bags, water bottles, mugs, pencil case, soft toys and much more! Since the shop selling all cute stuff, they certainly don’t have sexy garterbelt.

They are situated in S-115/116 of 1Borneo, which is on the level three near to the McD’s ice-cream corner.

I’ll definitely be going back there again tomorrow to get another set of the door curtain.
