Event of the day – Mud Ball throwing in Tropical Garden near to Wisma Pertanian.

When we reach there at around 9am, the organising committee (which I believe should be DBKK) has already got ready all those bud ball that need to be thrown into the huge drain:

There are already sign board with the respective school names.

Tents are ready, but seemingly too little for the crowd, especially there are children from each schools that are involved.

Just look at these school children being under the morning sun, hot and sweaty without even being given water from the organising committee. Not sure if they’ve got them drinks after the ceremony.

Even that, it was a long wait. Will our tourism minister being late. Probably something wrong with his watch or caught in the jam. But on a Sunday morning!?

So, these students are there sitting away from the main event area, though they are nearby but it seems that they are not there to listen to the speeches. Firstly from the chairperson of the Young Malaysian Movement Sabah Branch – who talk like the typical Chinese (though I’m a Chinese myself, ha!). Then from Datuk Masidi Manjun who started off his greetings in Malay then continue his speech in strong accent of Malaysian English. Oh well.. whatever he said, is not in my concern. All I know is, those children are suffering:

Just look at the number of tents and seats available which 50% of the seats are outside of the shaded area, of course those are empty. Who would want to sit under the hot sun?

So, While Datuk Masidi Manjun was having his speech, the children had their own agenda – trying to stay cool under the sun, and waiting for the fun moment to throw some mud ball into the drain.

So, right after his speech and those gift giving moments, everyone rush to the side of the drain and shown some love to the environment in throwing all their mud ball into the drain, some even got thrown till the road! Okay, probably just one or two, fortunately it didn’t get any car.

Just look at those excited crowd:

Well, cos some didn’t manage to thrown into the right place, they had to pick them up again and do another round of throwing.

My two starring also got themselves some mud balls to throw. Oh well, at least they had fun and learn about the good bacteria which can help us clean our drains.

Hopefully this will help our town municipal council in improving their management of our drainage system. Better and cleaner drain!
