I’ve been fortunate and lucky enough to be able to stay in Hotel Istana, a five star hotel located in the heart of the Golden triangle business district of Kuala Lumpur. It is just next to the Pavilion – shopping heaven to some and I get to shop in it. Well, window shopping only.
It is pretty easy to get to KLCC, Bukit Bintang and Pavilion from Hotel Istana. I love the room (that I stayed in), its design and space. But today I want to bring your attention to the stain glass that I saw in the hotel lobby.
It is simply stunning. I love the colors and the simple design of swirls and flower. I just love stain glass especially those with bright colors that lights up the area that it is placed at.
This stain glass panel is being mounted on one of the pillars. It probably is done locally and I wonder if the artist own a stain glass shop or art shop that create more art work such as jewelry.
The possibilities of stain glass being incorporated into other art works is so vast, for example making them into wind chime, ear-rings, glasses, pendent and other kind of jeweleries. Even as simple as stain plastic would draw the attention of little kids ‘cos they can color on it and make it their own.
Look at Belize jewelry, it is a mixture from other countries and yet they are being sold in Belize.
No one know the actual origin of stain glass, so no harm if we can market it here.
Just a thought.
I wish I could stay in Hotel Istana again and this time fully enjoy its facilities of swimming pool and gym.
