Gosh! I’ve just been away for 3 days and my mail is already jam pack with over a hundred mail to read! Same goes to my Google reader, as for now it is 229 posts that are new! OMG! 3 days away and that is how many that I’ve missed out and I can’t possibility read each and every one now, so I’ll be browsing and skipping.
Yes, I’ve been away officially to Telupid. A place in the interior in between Kota Kinabalu and Sandakan. It took us 4 hours to reach there by road and yes, no flight is available, only by road. So imagine having yourself seated in the car for the wholesome of at least 4 hours without stopping. I don’t remember stopping, or did we? I must have missed it. I managed to sleep on the way too. Yes, with that bumpy road, I still managed to get into my dreamland in an awkward position.
Why were we there? Oh, it is this yearly thing that the library do for the Kadazandusun language. The library is trying to promote the awareness in using our mother tongue, not my mother tongue, but the mother tongue of the main ethnic group we have in Sabah. And this Chinese in being involved in the committee. Normally the committee members consists of Kadazandusun people, but I guess there is always exception *wink*. I’m praying that I am able to contribute on the right track.
Where did we stayed? We stayed in a place where it consider to have the best view in town – Institut Perhutanan Sabah (IPS) which overlooking this:
However, if you are looking for a place that you can watch whatever channel that you like from Astro, forget it. ‘cos they only offer one of the channel at a time which is being controlled by the reception. Well, the most you can do is to request the channel that you like if however there is no objection from other guest.
The facilities are the most basic ones they offer. Other than the bed and blanket, a room with air-con and fan, attached shower with toilet; they gave you one little soap and a small pack of Sun Silk shampoo and a medium size towel. Well, what do you expect with RM80 per night for twin sharing, right?
Anyway, it was quite an experience for me having to sleep on that soft bed for two nights and causing pain on my back. Next time I’ll go equip with my own pillows and towel and maybe even blanket. Ha!
