It is funny and honor to be asked for opinion and more information regarding where to choose solid wood door from my colleague when she is looking for doors to her soon to be constructed new house! I’m so glad that I can help and giving my 2 cents opinion about doors according to my experience.
There are so many so call solid doors around the market which in fact is not that solid, it is not strong and hard enough for front door. Though over here the famous one is “Nyato” wood, but it could cost another 50% more than normal solid wood door. Firstly the door seller will ask if you want to keep the original natural wood color, if yes, then only they’ll introduce you Nyato wood instead of just some normal pale color wood that later need to be painted with dark color wood paint. As for Nyato wood, you can just vanish it and its natural pattern will shine through.
Other than choosing the right door with the pattern that you like, later you’ll need to choose the right door hardware to go with it, such as the door knob and hinges. Well, there are so much more than just installing a door. The fun part is you get to choose the color that you like, which in my case, white! Yes, pure white for my bedroom’s door. *wink*
