This is what I’ve in mind earlier on before the previous post which I’ve saved in my own laptop:
We were being greeted with hazy sky in Hanoi International Airport.

After waited half an hour for our luggage in the conveying belt when we almost loosing our hope and thought that it might have lost somewhere in the air-port or not even reaching here.

This place is a mixture of familiarity and foreign to me. I saw so many similarity between Hanoi and China. In Hanoi, there are even more motocycles than in China. It looks like DeTour Le Langkawi once the triffic lights turn green. I was amazed by how they drive in a cross junction with traffic coming in from all directions! I’ve learn how to get across the road without being hit by the motorcyles. The trick is to walk slow and steady so that they can avoid me while I also do the same.

I saw the similarity between Hanoi and Sri Lanka on the way they drive by mostly using their honk. The fly-over existing side-by-side with old and worn down houses. I saw the similarity between Hanoi and france in their construction. The old french panel window existing side-by-side with modern high rise buildings.

One thing that I find hard is communication. They rarely speak in fluent English, so sign language comes into rescue, I mean my self-help sign language. With that I manage to find the right adapter for all my chargers, which include my phones, camera and laptop! Thank Goodness! They are using just two-hole socket here and when I asked for the right adapter, the housekeeping came right up into my room to find out what I meant and swing her head once she saw what I was holding and pointing at. *LOL*.

One thing that fascinate me is once I got my US$ changed, I instantly become a millionair!! In Dong. At the money changer over the air-port, US$1 = 17777Dong.

Here are some photos that I took:

It’s the fun part of traveling to a total new place where you can identify a lot of similarities. Ended up you cracking your head about some scenes which you have seen before somewhere else. The more you travel, the more confusing you are.

Yup. But I’m not as confuse as you are right now as I haven’t travel as extensively as you do ;)
Hope I’ll be like you one day.
