I’ve just sent in the ACER notebook that we bought 3 years ago for mending just 2 days ago. Was expecting the ACER IT guy to call yesterday, but no news yet. I’ll give him another day I said. So I’ll call today and find out how much it cost to get it repair.
They charge RM90 for a new keyboard, RM50 for checking if I decided not to mend it at all. However, if it eventually got fix with other parts, there won’t be any checking fees involve. I hope it is not the mother board gone crazy, ‘cos that will cost me RM900 just for the board! The hard drive already cost over RM200.
Hubby actually have bought a DELL notebook over the net 2 weeks ago. Initially they were able to send it over by 30th March. Now they have moved forward the shipping time till end of April!! That is ridiculous, right? I mean what took them so long to get the notebook ready and ship over? I’m a bit pissed about this actually. I hope I can bring the new notebook over to China on my next visit, i.e. 1st May.
Then I saw this advert over in buy.com for their weekly deal, it was so cheap to get a HP mini notebook! To me it has all the necessary hardware and genuine software that I needed. I can always install Firefox in it. That would be good enough for me already! And it only cost US$279.90, plus free shipping (if I’m over in the US)!! Well, obviously the free shipping doesn’t apply to me, but still, where can you get that price?
Other than the notebook shown above, there are many other items on sale now now!
p/s: Darn! I’ve managed to call ACER, it is the motherboard problem, and it will cost me RM700 for it (instead of RM900 being mentioned earlier by the IT guy.)
