It was an official trip for me, to have a meeting in Kudat. But we also have planned extra doing some community work.
We’ve all stayed in Marina Resort, one that I won’t say is a resort as it only provide the most basic necessity from a hotel. Anyway, it was only for one night and we get to have room facing the sea.
This was what greeted me early in the morning.

After that was breakfast in the famous tofu shop in mile 2 of Kudat. Then headed off to the jetty to get our ferry to go over to Banggi. It was 1.5 hours ride on the ferry. Doesn’t really felt it ‘cos I’ve doze off half-way.
Got on to the so call resort in Banggi, ‘cos it is another wooden house with the bare necessity again. However I’m glad that I can get the air-con room. It was very hot there, though it felt very nice with the sea breeze.
I got on the tree house right away and join the rest of the group. It looks secure but the roof doesn’t seem to block our rain.

The next thing was get on to the top of the hill and got this shot from the village library.

We then proceed to go to the interior part of the island (Goodness, I forgot the name of the village) with truck full of goodies, we were all seated together with those goodies *LOL*. They were all seems friendly people and most of them don’t even have shoes on. Their houses are simple and mostly are farmers according to the village head there. Then we gave out what we’ve brought with us, bags of goodies fulled with rice, sugar, salt and noodle. After that was time to give away clothes that we’ve brought over. They all seems so glad on what we’ve done.
That night, we saw snakes going out from one tree near the sea. There is even a sign saying that be-careful for not stepping on them. They are fine if you don’t mess with them. Yeekie.. but I managed to take a photo of it. It’s tail is flat.

Nothing much to do over there, but still we managed to buy some fresh fish right from the fishermen where they just return from the sea! After that was some chit chatting time at the nearby “coffee house”.
The next morning, I was greeted by this:

And this from the jetty:

That pretty much sums up my trip (photo wise). We then headed back to Kudat with ferry then back home by road.
Ya, one thing I didn’t notice if there is any outdoor lighting near the resort, but it wasn’t dark at all, probably they are using some other kind of lightings. Nevermind, I’m back home now and that is one trip that I’m going to remember.

Wah sioklah. I didn’t know Banggi has enough population to get a village library. Also put bigger pictures lah, cannot see clearly.
Yup, it is a very small village library. Sorry about the small pictures, partly “sengaja”, but surely next time will put clearer or bigger photos.
