Yesterday was our cake making day for the 年糕 = new year cake. This is the first time that they boys saw how it was being made from beginning till it was set. They got very curious and excited about it that they basically stick their noses on everything that was going on yesterday till they got to bed.
We were using the traditional type of steaming by using fire wood with a big wok. Cal help voluntarily on putting in more wood before the fire die off at night till we got worried that it might just be too hot for him to handle. It is nothing like handling Votive candle holders, I’m talking about real fire here. Anyhow he is fine and treated himself a piece of the cake this morning.
